Recepção de Bakhtin e do Círculo no Brasil: uma história de diálogos polêmicos

Apresentações e prefácios de textos teóricos têm destino ambíguo: algumas vezes são invisíveis aos leitores, outras ampliam seu espaço e se misturam à obra. Neste trabalho, serão apresentados alguns resultados da pesquisa que tem por objetivo recuperar aspectos epistemológicos da recepção do pensamento bakhtiniano no Brasil. Iniciada com “A chegada de Voloshinov/Bakhtin ao Brasil na década de 1970” (2012), que situou o primeiro encontro de linguistas brasileiros com a tradução argentina de Marxismo e filosofia da linguagem (El signo ideológico y la filosofia del linguaje, 1976), desenvolve-se, agora, por meio da análise de alguns prefácios e apresentações que, desde a década de 1970, acompanham as diferentes traduções das obras do Círculo.   Esses textos, escritos por reconhecidos estudiosos da linguagem, incialmente estrangeiros e, em seguida, brasileiros, estabelecem diálogos teórico-epistemológicos que afetam a recepção brasileira do pensamento bakhtiniano. The reception of Bakhtin and the Circle in Brazil: a history of polemic dialogues

Abstract
Translators and/or editors’ introductions and prefaces of theoretical texts have an ambiguous destiny: sometimes they are invisible to the reader and other times, as their space is amplified, they blend in with the text. In this work, some research results which aim at recovering epistemological aspects of the reception of the Bakhtinian thought in Brazil will be presented. Starting out with “Voloshinov/Bakhtin’s arrival in Brazil in the 1970s” (2012), which placed the first encounter between Brazilian linguists and the Argentinian translation of Marxism and the philosophy of language (El signo ideológico y la filosofia del linguaje, 1976), it now expands by means of the analysis of some prefaces and introductions which have accompanied different translations of the Circle’s works since the 1970s. These texts, written by distinguished language scholars - foreigners at first and then Brazilians, establish theoretical-epistemological dialogues which affect the reception of the Bakhtinian thought in Brazil.
